Kalam Research and Media (KRM) is partnering with one of the leading Bosnian organisations, International Forum Bosnia, to collaborate on joint research on analytic theology with leading Bosnian Muslim scholars and in the formation of the Bosnian Kalam Collegium. Dr Aref Ali Nayed, Founder and Director of KRM and Dr Rusmir Mahmutćehajić, Founder and Director of International Forum Bosnia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in order to formalise this partnership.
International Forum Bosnia was founded by the former Deputy President of Bosnia, Dr Rusmir Mahmutćehajić. Representatives of the International Forum Bosnia and the new Bosnian Kalam Collegium, Dr Asim Zubcević and Dr Samir Beglerović, discussed with Sohail Nakhooda various research projects and also gave him a tour of their offices in Sarajevo (see photo). Sohail also met with Dr Rusmir Mahmutćehajić in both Mostar and Stolac and had the opportunity to see the wonderful academic, restoration and inter-faith youth work by the International Forum Bosnia.
Sohail Nakhooda, Head of Research and Publications at KRM, said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Dr Mahmutćehajić and his network of scholars at International Forum Bosnia. Their network includes many remarkable young scholars who understand the need to engage the tradition with contemporary discourse in the areas of theology, philsophy, inter-faith, science and culture, and the research work that we do at KRM shares the same goals. Also, their work with young people and their efforts to rehabilitate communities that have suffered the horrors of conflict is remarkable and extremely important to support.”
KRM is also collaborating with Bosnian Muslim scholars at the Faculty of Islamic Studies and at the Ghazi Huzrev Beg Madrasa.
