KRM, LIAS and The Foreign Affairs Institute in Athens Sign an MOU for Academic Cooperation

Kalam Research and Media (KRM) and the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) are pleased to announce the signing of an MOU agreement with the Foreign Affairs Institute (FAINST) in Athens, Greece.

KRM, LIAS and FAINST aim to do collaborative initiatives such as research, publishing, workshops, seminars, and conferences. The initiatives will aim to develop Libya-Greece academic cooperation in the areas of diplomacy, politics, theology, philosophy, history, education, and culture, and wider cooperation with the Muslim world.

KRM and LIAS recently partnered with FAISNT which organised its 2nd International Conference on Cultural Heritage on the theme “Hellenism and Islamic Culture: Positive Sources and Prospects for Interaction” (2-3 June 2021) with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr Aref Ali Nayed, the Chairman of LIAS delivered a speech at the conference on Greek Libyan cultural heritage and a common Mediterranean future. Other partners of the conference included the Foreign Affairs Journal (Hellenic edition), the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Tribune.gr.

The MOU was signed by Dr Aref Ali Nayed on behalf of the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) and Kalam Research and Media (KRM) in Benghazi, and by Mr Loukas Katsonis on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Institute (FAINST) in Athens.
