KRM and Rose Castle Foundation Renew Partnership, Announce “AI and Peace” Symposium
Kalam Research & Media (KRM) and the Rose Castle Foundation have announced the renewal and expansion of their Memorandum of Understanding, marking a new phase of collaboration focused on Peace AI and the ethical governance of emerging technologies.

This renewal extends a multi-year partnership, notably including the “Peacebuilding and Blockchain Technology” symposium held in 2022 at Rose Castle in the United Kingdom. The renewed agreement reflects a deeper commitment to addressing the ethical and social challenges posed by artificial intelligence systems and rapidly evolving digital environments.

“AI and Peace” Symposium – 2026
As part of this renewed partnership, preparations are underway for a specialized symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Peace to be held this year, bringing together leading researchers, technology experts, and policymakers.

The symposium will address key themes including:
∙Ethical governance of AI systems and digital platforms
∙Addressing algorithmic amplification of hate speech and polarization
∙Interpretive and ethical responsibility in AI system design
∙Employing Scriptural Reasoning methodology in responsible technological imagination
∙The horizons of PeaceTech in building a more cohesive future

The symposium aims to move beyond abstract theorizing toward developing practical frameworks that unite technical innovation with ethical responsibility, at a time when digital infrastructures profoundly shape public discourse and collective consciousness.

Dr. Sarah Snyder, Founding Director of the Rose Castle Foundation, emphasized that responsible engagement with AI represents an urgent priority in peacebuilding, given digital technologies’ capacity to either fuel division or support reconciliation.

Prof. Dr. Aref Ali Nayed, Chairman of Kalam Research & Media, stressed that artificial intelligence is not merely a technical challenge but fundamentally an ethical and hermeneutical question requiring collaboration across disciplines and intellectual traditions.

Future Collaboration Horizons
The renewed Memorandum of Understanding provides an institutional framework for continued dialogue, knowledge exchange, and future joint initiatives aligned with both institutions’ missions to advance peace grounded in knowledge, responsibility, and mutual respect.
